Via Mari 10
The smallest vineyard in the world
The time spent in barriques for the ViaMari10 is a long pause inside the protective womb of art, in fact the containers are two works executed by the sculptor Lorenzo Menozzi and they represent a man and woman. The first is a mighty oak trunk marked in the bark and wounded by grooves that represent the boldness of man always challenging nature. The interior is hollowed out and holds the wine in its guts to rest nobly. The other sculpture symbolizes the woman, outlined by a slenderer oak trunk, at the top there is a tank and the wine, poured through it, after having aged in the male sculpture, slowly permeates everything and falls along the wood fibers, while getting enriched by phenolic elements.
As it descends, the statuary shape tapers to take on the features of a wooden stalactite and the wine, after its long journey through the womb of the female sculpture, begins to drip out: here the ViaMari10 is just born. It is a wine that frees the need for pleasure in a literal sense and introduces a completely intellectual mode, which refers only to itself. Tasting the ViaMari10 represents the opportunity to truly come in contact with a tale, to literally live a tale that breaks with the Renaissance perspective. Wine is not the epicenter of the ViaMari10, but a means, because it is something else it wants to tell us.
